We are what we see. We are products of our surroundings. I love this quote by Amber Valetta, actress, and model, who I’m a big fan of. I’m always amazed how much my home has an impact on me. I love to look at art I’ve chosen, like an ocean-toned sea coral print, or the vivid pink-orange kalanchoe flowers I have on the deck. These things make me smile and this is what inspires me to make changes to my home to make more of my surroundings beautiful.
I also love doing design projects for other people to help them achieve the same goal. I hope you enjoy my site!
When we bought a 17-year-old house, I don’t think the deck had ever been cleaned and it definitely had never been re-stained. I set out to make it look new again, after researching I found a great product that was easy to use.
I always admired people with green thumbs. It seems so simple to keep plants healthy but I haven’t always had much luck. How hard can it be? I wasn’t looking forward to yard work with our new house but once we started we really liked it.
When we bought our house, the tile around our fireplace was forest green, ala 1991. I didn’t want to spend a lot on a contractor to re-tile and I didn’t want to take on the job of trying to break the tile to remove it myself so I decided to paint it.
There are certain small updates you can make to your home that have a big impact. Such an update is replacing dated light fixtures. It’s amazing how much more modern our house looked when we started doing this.
